Ami is one of the best students in all of Japan. Even though she's already very intelligent, she works very hard and studies a lot. Her favorite subject is math and
there isn't any subject that she doesn't like. She loves to read and play chess and hopes to become a doctor one day. She doesn't work all the time though. She is an avid swimmer. In addition to that, she is also very good at playing video games (to Usagi's dislike). She lives with her mother, who is a pediatrician. Her parents are split up, but she still stays in contact with her father, an artist.
When Ami holds her transformation pen in the air and shouts, "Mercury Power, Make Up!" she becomes Sailor Mercury. She is pretty much the brains of the operation. She often uses her VR visor and mini super computer to analyze the enemy. Her first attack is "Shabon Spray" which is used to blast bubbles at the enemy, creating a fog and dropping the temperature. The powered up versions of that attack are "Shabon Spray Freezing" and "Double Shabon Spray Freezing". They are both used to freeze the opponent and the second is just a stronger version of the first. In the second season of the show, Ami receives a second transformation pen. She now shouts "Mercury Star Power, Make Up!" to transform. She gains another attack, "Shine Aqua Illusion" (shown above). This attack creates a powerful wave of water, turning quickly to ice.
In SuperS, Ami gets another transformation pen. When she shouts "Mercury Crystal Power, Make Up!" she transforms into Super Sailor Mercury. She gains another attack, "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody" which is the same idea as Shine Aqua Illusion, only much more powerful. She uses a harp made out of water, where her attack is originated and leaves the opponent a bit chilly. In Ami's mini-movie, she uses another attack, "Mercury Aqua Mirage", which is the best of them all, if I do say so myself.
